The Community Youth Forum is a one-day think-tank for teenagers concerned with what they can do to shape the economic political and cultural life of their community. The Forum is a day for youth to share ideas, assess personal goals, and work jointly to plan community service projects. It begins with a morning talk and discussion on the situation of youth in the world today. Then in small groups the youth brainstorm predictions about the future and examine their goals in the light of anticipated needs of the next five years. After lunch, there is a talk on how youth influence the life of their communities. The following workshop allows youth to do a personal inventory on their time and energy. They close by writing an action plan for local community service.
