Lela Jahn died peacefully on Decenber 19, 2015 at the Zen Hospice Center in San Francisco, CA.
Lela was born to the late Donald and Delores Jahn in Green Bay, WI. Her mission in life was to empower women with self reliance and freedom of choice in their personal and professional lives. After she graduated from Green Bay’s West High School in 1958 and UW Stevens Point in 1962, her mission led her to a remarkable life as a missionary in Brazil through St. Paul Methodist Church, preschool director in Chicago, IL through the Ecumenical Institute, teacher in Africa, rural village project director, Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank and founder of Jahn Investment Advisors, her own financial planning firm for women executives.
Lela and her husband Don retired in 2007 and enjoyed travelling to India, China and Brazil. She also enjoyed working with her alma mater, UW Stevens Point. Lela lived out her final days in San Francisco.
Lela is survived by her husband of 35 years and life partner, Don Bayer; sister, Marilee Jahn; two brothers, Brian and Jeff Jahn; two nieces, Jessica (Baden) Jahn and Melissa Jahn; two nephews, Alan (Maria) and Tyler (Beverly) Jahn; four great-nephews, Gavin, Griffin, Damian and Elliott; and one great-niece, Gwendolyn; along with multiple stepchildren and grandchildren.
