Don was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on May 9, 1930, and died his death on Christmas Eve 1983. He was a husband, father and brother. He was bound in marriage to his wife, Joyce for 30 years, and was father to Charlotte, Francene and. Denise. He is also survived by his sister Lillian and his mother Alice.
Don was a citizen of the globe. He was raised in Massachusetts and received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Don began working for Union Carbide in 1952, taking leave in December 1953 to serve three years in the Navy. In 1962 Don and his family moved to Tokyo, Japan, where he served as a senior executive for Union Carbide. In 1972 he was assigned to a position in the Philippines. He retired from the company in 1978.
In 1967 Don began working with the EI/ICA. He has devoted much of his life to the missions of the EI/ICA throughout his life in Japan, the Philippines, Chicago and Hawaii.
In 1978 Don and Joyce moved to Hana where they built a house together and began a farming and landscaping business. Don was deeply involved in the community in general and in the Wananlua Church in particular. In August 1982 Don was diagnosed as having lung cancer which he battled in faith and hope for the remainder of his life.
