Virginia “Ginny” Evans (Natali)

January 30, 1946 – January 23, 2009

Chester, California resident Virginia Evans Natali passed from this life January 23rd, 2009. Born Virginia Evans on January 30th, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Paul and Gerry (Smith) Evans, as the daughter to a career military father she traveled throughout the United States and the world. Ginny as she affectionately became known graduated with honors and was a member of the National Honor Society, from Western Hills High School in Cleveland, Ohio as a member of the “Class of 1964”. She went on to attend Case-Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and later Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1977 Ginny moved to California and began a career as a laboratory technician at Westlake Hospital in Southern California. It is here she met a handsome young Emergency Room Physician named Vincent Natali. As their love for one another blossomed over a four year period the two were united in matrimony at the Chester Community United Methodist Church on July 7th, 1981 and to this union two daughters were born.

Ginny was a devoted member of the Methodist faith and was a stalwart with the Chester congregation. Among many other positions within the congregation she was a longtime member of their Board of Trustees. A passionate advocate for the elderly and less fortunate, Ginny worked long and hard to obtain the funding and was instrumental in developing Wildwood, the new addition to Wildwood and the Chester Senior Center.

She was highly active in the community affairs of both Lassen and Plumas County, was a founding organizer of the Chester Community Supper, a member of the board of Directors of the Almanor Basin Community Center, Board Member of the Recreation District Board Member of the Sierra Institute for the Community and Enviroment, as well as being a charter member of the Chester Rotary Club. As a member of the PTA’s state board she passionately fought for the better education for the youth of the state. Ginny just recently was the driving force behind the reorganization of the Susanville PTA. There was not a community meeting that Ginny did not try hard to attend and actively take a part in.

In passing Ginny leaves her loving husband of twenty seven years; Dr. Vincent Natali, M.D. of Chester, CA, daughters; Barbara and Ann Natali both of San Francisco, CA and a brother David Evans of Sparks, Nevada.
