This is a sad sad day for me. My hubby Len passed on yesterday. He just sorta went to sleep and didn’t wake up. Len had been in Memory Care and had been slowing down, but I wasn’t ready for this. I found this birthday note I’d written to him years ago.
This gratitude is still flowing today for this real special guy.
I’m celebrating you Len, for all the things you’ve done.
And all the places you took me. I think it is Iona that won.
The Dances of Universal Peace weekends raised my spirits high.
And you took me to swim with Hawaiian turtles. And I gave it a good try.
And being taught by Marshall Rosenbug, Rremember when a guy gets angry with you,
it’s because of his unmet need and understanding is all you can do.”
And don’t forget the rallies. Peace and Justice was our cry.
We even marched with King and we raised our voices high
So thank you, thank you, Len, for sharing your life with me.
For all the things we did. For all the things we could see.
Thank you dear Paula for sharing this with the broader community.
Here’s to Hockley’s overlapping XXs – good, approved, received, possible – indicative/imperative. ‘67?
Dear friends, I feel very sad at the news of Len’s passing over. I deeply admired both Len and Phyllis. Thank you for living your life the way you showed us Len. With joy for having known Len on our journey.
