Common Earth offers a comprehensive course to help people develop their ability to see interconnections and to recognize their inherent agency and resiliency, thereby forming a compassionate community of people developing holistic responses to climate change.

This course gives participants the opportunity to develop their thinking and understanding alongside people equally committed to moving towards a more sustainable and compassionate planet. This classic course remains our hallmark and will always be where people are encouraged to enroll to benefit from the deep insights that can only result from significant time spent engaged with the material and with one another.

A strong beginner level of Systems Thinking is the foundation used to draw connections between seemingly disparate issues, giving participants a unique perspective on the systemic causes of the climate crisis. It also enables them to use Systems Thinking tools and to consider the best leverage points on where to intervene to generate positive results. Beyond that, the course also provides a learning opportunity in areas such as the Principles of Human Experience, the Economy, Thermodynamics, Biomimicry, Regenerative Agriculture and Community Building.

Recognizing the need for a program with a smaller course load that offers similar core themes and values to our classic course, Common Earth presents an abbreviated version of our more in-depth course. In this new course, participants are encouraged to make meaningful connections between ideas and to develop a new understanding of the crises we face while building caring communities around the globe. The facilitators provide participants with support in navigating the concepts presented and foster an inclusive environment for interactive and exploratory conversations. This course enhances participants’ understanding of sustainability and the systemic changes required to justly live within our planetary boundaries. It is open to those who are interested in deepening their understanding of climate change and related issues, as well as those who are curious about expanding and shifting their worldview.
