Using the Power of Time

Facilitating is all about time. An interactive workshop

on using the power of time in facilitation.

Group facilitators have two major tools they can control: space and time. Space offers opportunities, and how about time? Time is an illusion, a fiction. How one deals with time determines the outcomes of any meeting. (That’s why reports used to be called “minutes”.) So how does one use time in facilitating groups of people in meetings?

In this online workshop we invite you to search your attitudes towards “time” and how these can hinder and help you in conducting meetings. You’ll also receive some tips and tricks  collected over Time.

You will receive the full workshop instructions a few days before the workshop. We’ll use Zoom and a Miroboard.

*  We check in in with one of your favourite quotes about time.

*  Then we’ll go into break-out groups to share “icons of time”

*. After clustering and naming, you’re invited to select a few of your preferences

*. After a break we’ll have a conversation on how one uses these preferences in facilitating groups

Participants who have joined the session to the end, will receive a pdf with some do’s about time (one cannot not do something).

This workshop is co-facilitated by Jan Lelie and Michelle Zhang, IAF members.  It is free for IAF-World members. If you’re not a member, we’ll ask for a voluntary contribution.
