Joe Mathews introduced the notion that a Christianity for the 21st century will take on a secular religious form. Christianity is a religion in a secondary sense. As a religion it is only a practice, not an identity or a sub-culture. In that sense, Christianity is not even a religion; it is a revelation that happened within Judaism and transcended Judaism and every other religion. The Christian revelation is applicable to every religious practice that is intent on accessing the Eternal. In that sense, we are talking about a form of religion practice that is inter-religious or secular. We need to discuss this more fully.
