We are very excited to announce our first Treaty Talks event for 2022 is on Thursday, 10 March at 1:30PM AEDT with Wirdi man and Northern Territory Treaty Commissioner, Tony McAvoy SC hosting a discussion about the international Indigenous treaty context.

 

Tony McAvoy will be joined by Aotearoa Foreign Affairs Minister, the Hon Nanaia Mahuta, Maori Justice Joe Williams and Professor John Borrows, of the Chippewa of the Nawash First Nation in Ontario, Canada.

Setting the scene for the treaty process being considered in the Top End, these prominent international leaders will talk through what treaty has meant for the Maori and First Nations peoples of Canada.
